Graduation Speech 1996

Dear Audience

This day marks the end and the beginning of an important chapter in our lives. We, as the 1996 graduating class of A.M.S, are closing a chapter, which spanned twelve long years of education. We are leaving teachers whom we’ve grown fond of, and who have given so much to us, not just academics.

These teachers have spent endless hours preparing for daily textures, formulating torturous exams and grading mountains of papers. They have been role-models for us, confident to listen to our troubles and give us guidance in times of need. To you teachers, we say not just thank you, but job well done.

Dear beloved parents, we as your sons and daughters can never express our heartfelt gratitude for all you have given to us over these years of growth from childhood to adulthood. We know of the anxieties and sleepless nights you’ve been patient with us, always extending a strong loving arm of assistance. You’ve sacrificed a great deal for the benefit of our future success. To this, there are not enough words to express how we, your children, feel for you. To say thank you, for this gift of knowledge, is not enough.

Fellow graduates, as we close this era in our lives and open a new one, we must cherish all the fond memories of these past years together. We must remember all the lessons we’ve learned, not just the academics , but also lessons of character building.

We, the future leaders of this great nation, are about to embark upon the greatest challenges of our lives. We can either accept these challenges and climb the ladder of success, using all the skills we’ve acquired, or we can stand on the side- lines and falter. We choose not falter!

To you fellow class-mates, I admonish you to stand upright with your heads high and your minds opened for even greater knowledge.

Dear colleagues, pick up the torch of truth and knowledge and go forth, striving to achieve all your goals.

Make a mark on this world which will be remembered for generations to come.
