Graduation Speech 1998

Our guest of honour H.E.Jawdat Al Sboul Member of the Senate,

Mr. Chairman of the Board Dr. Fathi Abu-Arja,

Dear Teachers, Our Guests, Fellow Students,

Welcome. We highly appreciate your presence on this dear occasion, our graduation day from AMS. This is a short step of a long journey. We leave AMS with mixed feelings; we are glad that we have graduated from High School on our way to colleges and universities; at the same time we feel sorry that we will be away from our beloved school, friends and classmates.

However, we shall always be grateful to our teachers who spared no effort to help us come through this critical phase of our lives successfully. We, students, know that we have been troublesome and even negligent sometimes. For this, we apologize and, please our beloved teachers, be sure of our deep respect for you all.

Education has always been and shall always be a cornerstone for building a coherent, progressive and healthy society. We promise to continue our education with great care and diligence, and hope that our families and our teachers will be proud of us. Many thanks to our parents for being around whenever needed; to our teachers for their care, tolerance and effort; and to the officials of our schools for their guidance and interest in our careers. Finally, I’ll make just one more promise.” We shall be good citizens”.

Good- bye and God bless you all.
