Graduation Speech 2001
Ladies and Gentlemen, Good evening We are gathered here tonight for a very special and important occasion. It will be a night for all of us to remember, a night of wonderful memories, a night that celebrates the end of one stage and the beginning of another. I would like to welcome all of you today here.. school, family and friends ….. 12 years ago ; we came to this institution with great enthusiasm and determination to build a bridge to the future for ourselves and for the next generation. As I struggled all the past week writing my speech, a host of emotions welled up in me as I reflected on the experiences and memories gained during my time at A.M.S. The experiences may have been unanticipated, but they are just as important as the knowledge acquired at this institution. The more I reflected, the more I came to appreciate the valuable education that has been gained by all of us. This education has given us the basis for a memorable and rich intellectual life. It has trained all of us to become critical thinkers and compassionate human beings. It has given our minds the opportunity to be invigorated by academic diversity and has allowed us to become part of this school and this school has become part of us. Another mysterious journey begins as the 21st century is here, impatiently whispering in our ears, encouraging us to look high towards our future aims. We, the AMS graduating class of 2001, are group of people who have the imagination and the desire to envision a new and better future. We have the practical knowledge and tools that AMS has given us, to work together to translate the abstract into reality. Let us thank you, our distinguished school, for believing in us, compelling us, and teaching us to explore the fullness and strength that lie within ourselves. Let us thank our family and friends for loving us, supporting us, and encouraging us to pass through the challenges of that upstream river of knowledge. Class of 2001; wish you all a bright future and may another journey begin here.
